It's Fall, Y'all

So pull out your flannel, your best fur vest, your boots 

and enjoy.

And go find the best rocks while you're at it too.

And stay outside for awhile and explore.

And soak up this beautiful weather we have been having lately!

pat-a-cake

Every now and then I look at my baby girl and think "When did you grow up??"

I had one of those days recently, so I took Eleanor outside and let her run around the yard and do her explorer thing while I snapped away on my camera.

Here are a couple snapshots I got of my cute girl.

part three: at the hospital

lyla came into the world just a teeny little thing
at 7 lb 8 oz and 18 in long.
she was so tiny and little
and had the longest fingers and toes i had ever seen!
she's just a skinny little cuddly baby
and when her cry gets serious you can definitely tell!
she is just a little dolly!

i remember being at work when ashley texted me they were on their way to the hospital. and then at 2:45 on friday, april 13, 2012, little lyla kate was born. i will never forget how excited i was to be an aunt! i mean, hello! game changer! haha! {i know, i know, we're not even the parents of this little girl and we still can't get enough of her!}

we all sure love lyla, and when we were driving to utah to finally meet her, it felt like we couldn't get there fast enough! blake is probably the proudest of us all! he just loves to hold her and he knows that he is definitely her favorite! after me, of course! ;) just kidding.... i know lyla loves us all equally. how could she not with all of the loving friends and family she has been born into!

we truly feel like lyla is a little angel fresh from heaven and we love her so so much! thank you ashley and jordan for sharing your precious little one with us! you two are wonderful parents and lyla is the sweetest, prettiest baby we've ever seen!

part two: slc shower

ashley's baby shower in slc was fantastic! andrae was a wonderful host and planned everything down to the very last detail! it was held at jordan's aunt's home and it turned out so lovely! so many friends and family came and it was so wonderful to see them all! and like i said before, the details were what made this shower so amazing! i kind of got distracted by all the beautiful goodness and wonderful company, that i put my camera down and just enjoyed being there. so, please excuse me for not taking a photo of you two, ash and andrae, together. that was my bad... but good job andrae! it was a perfect afternoon! and happy shower, ash!
