the arnold family

This is the Arnold Family! Brock is my cousin, so we basically go waaaaaay back. Our mom's are twin sisters, can't ya tell? Well, maybe not in the looks department (I wasn't blessed with as much height as he was), but always goofing off and being full of b.s.? Yeah, that's where we are a lot alike! haha!

I have to share this cute/funny story about Brock and his beautiful wife Carrie. Just a few short weeks before Brock met Carrie, he started telling me and everyone he knew that "wife was in season" and he was going to catch him a wife! Well, what do ya know? He met her shortly after that, and I dare say got the catch of his life! :) I just love these two! And their darling little boys! The oldest was really into exploring at the photo shoot, and got really excited when he found a super cool leaf! I've got a little explorer girl myself, so maybe that's why my mama heart just about burst when he found that leaf! Also, we had to take a little snack break during the session. It happens, ya know? And there was lots of sharing going on during snack break, as well as some brotherly love. It totally reminded me of when my little girl loves on her cousin Sayd a bit too much... One person is super happy about it, and the other can't seem to get out of there fast enough! hahaha!

Needless to say, this is one fun fam bam! Sure glad I got to spend some time taking their photos and catching up! I just love these people!

He was playing with his mama's hair! So precious! I was melting...

the bybee family

I had a lot of fun catching up with the Bybee family and meeting their little baby girl! Gosh, she is just adorable. When I first saw them on the shoot I greeted their little baby and she gave me the biggest, cheesiest, heart melting grin I've ever seen! And I've been obsessed with her ever since! :)

These guys were great to work with, and a lot of fun! I try not to talk about the status of my shaven/unshaven legs on a photo shoot too often (I had just shaved them, by the way), but you know me... When I'm shooting photos, sometimes I get to talking a little too much.... And when the conversation went from man beards to shaven vs unshaven legs... ya know. Things got interesting. One way to reeeeeeally get up close and personal with me is to hire me to take your photos... Blake usually just ends up shaking his head when I come home from a shoot when I tell him what slipped out of my mouth this time. Oh who am I kidding, this happens when I'm not shooting photos too. Yikes...

Anyway, the Bybee's are super awesome. Plus, they are one good looking family, which makes my job easy! Seriously though, can we just mention how gorgeous Krista's hair is?? It looks absolutely amazing on her!

Enjoy this little sesh of the Bybee family. This is one of my all time favorite shoots I have ever done! I know I've been saying that a lot lately, but I truly mean it!

Also, I dare you not to get baby hungry after looking at these photos!

When the sun came through the trees just so
to add a beautiful golden glow to these next pics,
I nearly died and went straight to photographer heaven! Amazing lighting that day!

kelly family

I love the Kelly family!

They are my friends, they are basically my family, and they are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet in your life! Even little Clara, who was not feeling well at all that day and is usually a high energy little thing, was still sweet as could be! Poor baby girl....

The Kelly's were also the very first family I took family photos of, back when I was just starting to study photography in college! They were so nice and encouraging back then, boosting me up even when I hardly knew how to shoot family photos. :) But it was super fun then, and super fun now! I am so happy I got to spend some time with them taking their family photos this year. It was a very special experience when I got to go with their family to visit their son Miles's grave. He is the sweetest boy! And it was such a special and spiritual experience for me to witness this sweet family visiting their son and their brother. Families are forever! The spirit truly testified that to me that day.

I love this family and how we tied in some of Andrae's family roots into the photos by shooting at some special places that mean a lot to their family. This is one of my very favorite family sessions to date! Enjoy! And feel free to check out this family photo session on Andrae's blog here.
