First of all, let me apologize for the long, unexpected absence from my blog. But I am back now and hopefully posts become more regular.

Since the snow has been falling so much recently and has been so gorgeous, I took some shots of two of my sisters, who were more than happy to be the subjects of my photography.

some portraits

I just had a couple portraits I thought you might be interested in seeing.

I had so much fun with these shots of Shawni. This shot is just a preview of things to come. I call this "Street Performer." Her music sounds as beautiful as she looks. You'll have to hear her play sometime.


I took this shot this summer, but I swear I will never get enough of it! Paisley is my cousin's beautiful baby and she was so fun to shoot. I love this shot, she is so adorable!

This shot was taken this summer, but it is just so beautiful I had to post it. Plus, Miss Ashley is on my mind a lot lately with her wedding and everything, so since she's been on my mind she also makes it on my blog.

I have been incredibly busy lately compiling a book I entitled "etc." I took all but three of the shots in the book, two of which I am modeling for and one incredible shot by my sister. All of the shots posted below were taken by me. It has been an extremely enjoyable and rewarding project. I have posted a few of the spreads below. I know they are kind of small files, but I think you can still see them.

These photos were taken at two different times. The shot on the left is of my cousin's baby. She is so adorable, as you can see, and so enjoyable to photograph! That's the biggest smile I've ever seen! The text says "laughter makes us approachable. - Gary K. Palmer" The shot on the right is of my sister pushing five little girls on a merry-go-round at the park. Finally, this is my music page. I am so excited about these shots. I saw Joshua Radin in concert and I took a ton of shots. The one on the left is of his guitar case with a drum in the background. Hello, my name is Alexandria Jayne.  I am Plain Jayne, creator of Plain Jayne Photography & Design.  I love photography.  I love capturing moments on my camera, the ones that come and go just a little too fast but stay with us always. I love looking back on those moments and remembering those times.  

I love life!  I find joy in simplicity and beauty and wonder.  I love to capture life as I know it on camera.  I love living life to the fullest and just being me.

I am becoming a Photoshop addict and a photography junkie and I find myself playing with my shots anytime I have a spare minute or two.  This blog will serve as a place to show off the workings of Plain Jayne Photography & Design.  I look forward to future photo shoots and fabulous shots to share with you.
